Olaplex treatments are worth it! Olaplex is used in all lightening services including balayage and highlight services

Reasons to add Olaplex with your next highlights or balayage service

Not only does it improve texture in natural hair and damaged hair, but it smoothes and strengthens during and after hair color services.

Olaplex is the original patented bond-building product for making hair healthier and keeping it strong during highlights, hair lightening, and collor correction. Anything that requires bleaching the hair.

Olaplex strengthens compromised hair by repairing from the inside with (patented) Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate]. Olaplex allows the hair to restructure itself to its natural or permed texture, and makes it appear thicker, but not bigger. The hair will also reflect light and shine, and become less frizzy. Olaplex is the best for any type of hair.

Di-sulfied bonds are often broken by blowdrying, flat ironing, curling, hairdye, hair beach, hair color, perms, relaxers, chemical processing, heat, and even the sun or dry air.

Salons that carry Olaplex and give a full treatment should apply Olaplex Number 1 and then Olaplex Number 2 after determining that the issue is broken disulfide bonds.

Highlights, color services, and Olaplex

It will not strip color or cause any negative effects to permed, bleached, or dyed hair. PH balancing ingredients along with improving the health of the hair allows previous and future color to last longer.

Will Olaplex save my hair?

Maybe. Olaplex is not always needed to make hair healthy. It depends on the problem! Sometimes mineral buildup problem caused by hard or well water, or porous hair that would be better suited for a Keratin treatment or mineral removal treatment. A trusted stylist will be able to determine how to help your damaged hair,  or explain the next steps to get healthier hair and how long it will take.

Will Olaplex Damage my hair?

No. Unless it is a false product, or used incorrectly by anyone other than a trusted licensed hairstylist.

Will Olaplex help my hair grow?

A Full Olaplex Treatment with No.1 and No.2 will prevent it from becoming broken and split. Preventing damage is one of the best ways to help your hair stay long, and grow longer. Using Olaplex in haircolor or bleach will increase the chances that chemically processed hair won’t break, and may not need to be cut or trimmed as often. It will not make hair grow faster from the scap. It will not fix split ends, but it will prevent them from splitting more or at all. People who get Olaplex treatments are able to change their hair color more often because their hair is healthier.

It’s already dead, but if you work on keeping your hair strong and healthy, it will move, bounce, shine and look alive.

Can I do the Olaplex treatment at home?

The patented Olaplex No 1 Treatment product is a tool that is only sold to professional beauty supply stores and purchased by licensed cosmetologists for professional services. Similar “Olaplex No.1” bottles have been commercially sold online for a lower price than licensed cosmetologists can purchase it directly from the supplier company. The ratings reflect that the “Olaplex” being sold to non-professionals is not the patented formula, and may produce no chemical change or benefit to your hair. The odorless consistency and color of Olaplex Number 1 can easily be replicated by people selling false products, even more easily than the replication of shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and makeup. Online, you will see a lot of reviews and pictures of when “Olaplex” doesn’t work. If you are a non-professional wondering what Olaplex to use with bleach, chances are high that your search results will lead you to an expensive mixture of water and food coloring and not the patented Olaplex formulation Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate. That’s likely why all the negative reviews.

Are Olaplex 2 and 3 the same?

They have the same ingredients, however No 3 is diluted for at-home use. If you find Olaplex Number 2 available from a supplier that doesn’t request you show a professional cosmetology license, the chances are higher that it is not real. Go with Number 3
